How to Install WordPress Through Fantastico to Setup Your Niche Blog

You are probably convinced by now that affiliate marketing and having your own blog is a great decision. Unfortunately, if you've never installed a blog before, you might be intimidated about the process. We have already discussed the fact that you need web hosting and domain name. After you have those things you will be ready to install the WordPress blogging software (it's easier than you think).

Thankfully, the folks at Fantastico have made life easy for you. You will find the Fantastico application in your cPanel. The cPanel is the back end of your web host, and you should have gotten access details to it after signing up.

Now, enter into your cPanel and examine the icons you will find there. Search for a blue smiley face with the text "Fantastico" underneath. Alternatively, you can simply search for the term "Fantastico" through your browser's "find" search bar.

After you have found the Fantastico icon, go ahead and click it. You'll be taken to a screen that has some written information about the tool in the center and then some liInstall Wordpressnks on the left-hand side. You want to look under the "blogs" section where you will find a link for a WordPress. Go ahead and click that link.

Then, you'll be asked where you want to install WordPress. Make your selection -- if this is your first website then the chances are it will be on the main domain name that is associated with your account. Otherwise, choose the domain name or section specific URL within your domain (for example www.yourdomain.com/blog) where you want WordPress to be installed.

Then, you'll enter the standard information, such as what your blog is to be called, what you want the administrator name to be, the password, and other relevant information. After you enter in this information all you have to do is click to install!

Fantastico will then do everything for you and allow you to select an e-mail address where you can have the installation details sent so you don't forget them. Now you're ready to point your browser to the domain name and you will see the standard WordPress page.

To get into your admin section, you will enter in http://yourdomain.com/wp-admin (if you installed it in a folder titled "blog" you would point your browser to http://yourdomain.com/blog/wp-admin). Enter in your username and password and you will see the back end of WordPress. They have made it incredibly easy to use in recent years, so while there is a bit of a learning process, it is generally very easy to work with!

You will see that there are sections for posts, pages, managing the appearance of your blog, settings, and more. Go ahead and browse through the sections because it will be helpful for you to familiarize yourself with all of them before getting started.

Of course, you've probably seen WordPress blogs that are very unique. You can change the way your WordPress blog looks through using different themes. You can do a search for WordPress themes at http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/ or even search for some right in your WordPress admin panel. When you find the one you want, you could upload it to your themes folder -- or click to install if you find one through your wp-admin. Then, you can select the theme you want to use to change the entire look of your blog.

Plug-ins are also important to understand. Plug-ins help your blog do a variety of things. For example the All-In-One SEO plugin is designed to search engine optimize your blog without you having to do very much work. You can click on the plug-ins section in your admin area, search for the ones you want to use, and have them instantly installed to your blog. Or, you can browse through at http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/.

You'll come to love Wordpress as an affiliate marketer!
