Choosing a Style and Tone for Your Content

As a niche blogger, you are definitely going to want to have your own style. This will help to set you apart from other blogs in your niche. It will also keep your readers coming back time and time again, because they will be used to your style, and will want to see what you have to say all the time!

Some bloggers automatically know exactly what they want their content to sound like. Perhaps you a very distinctive personality or set of opinions and you want that to carry through on your blog. Some people prefer to be very controversial, while other people prefer to just comment on the things that are going on in their own voice. It is definitely up to you! Keep in mind, however, that you do need to fine tune the things you say to what your niche will respond to the most. Take note of what is on their minds, what problems they have, how they talk about their passion, and what they want and like to read.

While choosing how to write content is easy for some people, others have no clue how they should do it! One thing you can do is to visit other blogs that are already established in your niche. Take notes on the blogger's style and how they differ from other blogs in the niche.

Do you like one person's style of writing over the other? What makes a certain blog stand out above others in the niche? While you definitely don't want to copy anyone's style, doing this exercise Choosing Your Tonecan help you generate ideas to become more creative with your own writing.

There are a few main styles you might want to choose from for your blog:

Humorous -- many people like to find humor in everyday situations. Even if you're dealing with a difficult niche topic where people have certain problems, there is nothing wrong with injecting some humor into things on occasion. People love funny, and you can let your humor fly in your writing.

Controversial -- there are certain niches where it pays to be controversial. People come back time and time again because they can't get enough. Perhaps they completely agree with you -- or perhaps they think you are an idiot! No matter what, it will help your increase your readership and the number of people who link to your blog posts from all around the web. People love a good controversy.

Informative -- many bloggers find that the people in their niche respond to informative, helpful information above all others.
